The three photos below show our recent makeover of a very overgrown pond in the village of Kemsing. The roots of the Water Lilies had grown so much that the poor fish had very little room left to swim in! Amazing what three hard-working ladies can achieve in two days.

These pictures show a pond in Meophan that we refurbished in March 2018. The old plastic lining had reached the end of its life and we replaced it with a better quality Butyl liner. While the pond was empty we dug out additional shelving so the recycled granite setts used for some of the edging could sit at ground level to look more natural. Overgrown plants were trimmed and re-potted and should come up a treat as the weather starts warming up.This is how it looked when we were called in.

  • The old liner was leaking and needed replacing.

  • It was a good opportunity to give the pond a more natural look by lowering the raised edging and getting the water level right.

  • Almost done - if it looks this good now it’s going to be fabulous with the addition of some delightful spreading aquatic plants in the late Spring.

As well as being in a rundown condition Mr C's pond in Chislehurst was overly large for the size of the garden plot and the shrubs around it were also overgrown. By reducing the size of the pond, reshaping and re-lining it, re-routing the waterfall and down-sizing the large shrubs with smaller varieties the garden and pond were brought into proportion.

Below are some other examples of our work...

It was very satisfying to revisit this pond in Orpington and see how established and natural it now looks. As you can see from the photos below, it's a far cry from the sory state it was in before renovation (left) or even when the new edging had just been laid (right). A good example of how aquatic planting can help transform a garden pond.

Waterlilies went to Battle - and won!

A particularly invasive type of Miscanthus grass had all but taken over a once lovely natural pond in Battle, East Sussex. Armed with knives, scythes, a boat and our trusty waders we saw off the enemy.

'It's incredible,' said a grateful Mrs G. 'The pond was overgrown when we moved in so we've never seen it like this before. Thank you so much for what you've done and we will definitely recommend you to other people...'
